Many prospective participants prepare using notes from last year. For state universities, this practice is now outdated. The main regulation changes in mid-2026, and the poster "CPNS 2026 is open" that has been widely circulated has already been denied by BKN.

2021 Regulation Has Been Revoked

Permenpan RB Number 13 of 2026 concerning the Admission of Students to State Universities was established on July 15, 2026, and enacted the following day, recorded in the State Gazette of 2026 number 480, consisting of 12 pages. In the status column of the JDIH of the Ministry of PANRB, this document revokes Permenpan RB Number 20 of 2021.

The consequences are easy to overlook. The name of the regulation has changed, from "Selection for Admission of Students/Cadets" to "Admission of Students." Searching with the old term still returns the 2021 document, complete and neat, without any indication that its contents are outdated.

The passing score for SKD is regulated separately, and its validity lasts only one selection season. The basis for this year is Kepmenpan RB Number 406 of 2026, established on July 27, 2026, and is currently valid. Therefore, copying the passing score from last year's notes is the quickest way to miscalculate. Refer to the decision for the current year.

The schedule is set through the Head of BKN Letter Number 5249/B-KS.04.01/SD/K/2026 dated August 12, 2026:

Selection announcement: August 15 to 24, 2026
Registration: August 18 to 30, 2026
Administrative selection: August 18 to September 1, 2026
Administrative results September 2 to 3, objections September 4 to 5, post-objection results September 7 to 8
SKD with BKN CAT: September 22 to October 7, 2026
Score processing: September 27 to October 10, 2026
Announcement of SKD results, in stages: October 1 to 13, 2026
Further selection: October 11 to 28, 2026
Final graduation by ministries and agencies: October 21 to November 1, 2026

Nine ministries and agencies are opening 4,770 positions: IPDN 1,410, PKN STAN 1,000, Ministry of Transportation state universities 891, STIS Statistics Polytechnic 564, Immigration and Correctional Polytechnic 375, Ministry of Law and Human Rights Polytechnic 250, STMKG 130, STIN 100, and State Cyber and Cryptography Polytechnic 50.

State Universities Are Not CPNS

These two pathways are often confused, and it is in this gap that hoaxes enter. Both use SKD, but the organizers are different, the portals are different, and the passing score decisions stand alone.

On June 4, 2026, BKN stated that the poster claiming that registration for CPNS 2026 is officially open is a hoax. BKN Spokesperson Wisudo Putro Nugroho pointed out two indicators that can be directly read from the poster: a link that is not an official government domain, and a narrative that encourages people to click quickly. BKN emphasizes that official ASN selection information is only released through official government channels.

Three steps you can take before trusting an announcement:

Check the domain. If it does not end with .go.id, stop there.
Match the dates with the official schedule above. Posters announcing registration outside that range have already failed at this step.
Do not enter personal data on links that have not passed the previous two steps.

A small habit closes almost all gaps: type the portal address directly into your browser, do not follow links from posters or chain messages.
